Pure Cornish are Dave and Tracey Mahoney, a husband and wife team working together on the various problems computers can throw at you. We dont just work with computers but they are also our favorite hobby.
We bought our first computer about 15 years ago. That lasted about 3 months before we decided to get one each.
We obviously use our computers for work but love playing with new software and finding easier and better ways of doing just about anything.
From Karaoke to watching our holiday photos transmitted to our lounge television. We have learned that PC's are not just for boring accounts and word processing.
We have great fun with music, photos and games and now with broadband, the internet is the greatest research and shopping tool ever invented.
Computers will never replace relaxing with a good book, but in our home we use our computers for all our music, home videos, photo sideshows etc. When is the last time you got out old photo albums? Ours are all on DVD sideshows now, we also have loads of photo frames in our office and lounge, we print out new pics and replace them regularly.
We do a lot of our shopping online - not food shopping, that's never the same as seeing what's on offer, then choosing the right veg etc to go with every meal. But buying books, DVD's, CD's, electronics, furniture etc, once you deceide on the particular item you want then you can surf around for the cheapest price or just quickest delivery. Birthdays and Christmas are great fun as you have the whole world to search for that ideal present or just daft stuff to have a laugh on that day.
Our favorite evenings are still relaxing in front of the TV, but surfing and chatting online with friends comes a very close second. We have met many people over the internet and have become great friends with people all over the country. With E-mail and instant messaging its easy to keep in touch. Living in Cornwall it's not surprising our friends love to visit and stay with us for holidays.
Customers ask why we can stand to work with computers every day. They can be extremely frustrating, impossible to understand but never, never boring! There is always something new to learn with technology changing on a daily basis. Remember what your first PC could do - then imagine where we will be in the next 10 years.
